Orders
have been issued determining the time limit of the officers issuing various
types of leave grants, reporting and reposting orders in the Education
Department.

PS &
UPS Headmasters:
CL, Spl.CL grant to the co-teachers in the schools.
High
School Headmasters
CL, Spl.Cl, CCL grant to the co-teachers in the
schools along with any other leave with a limit of 4 months.
Mandal
Education Officer (MEO)
CL, Spl.CL, CCL grant to the PS, UPS Headmasters
within the mandal limits and any other leave with a limit of 4 months.
District
Deputy Educational Officer (Dy.EO):
He grants CL, Spl.CL, CCL to High School Principals
and other leave up to 6 months to all PS, UPS & HS teachers under his
jurisdiction.
District
Education Officer (DEO):
He grants CL, Spl.CL, CCL to Dy.Eo, MEO. He grants
any type of leave above 6 months but not exceeding 1 year to Dy.Eo, MEO, High
School Principals and all teachers.
Director
of School Education (DSE):
He grants any type of leave above 1 year but not
exceeding 4 years to Divisional Education Officers, Principals and teachers.
The power to grant leave for the period beyond that lies with the government.
In the
context of Maternity Leave
Orders have been issued delegating the authority to
grant leave up to 6 months to female teachers to the High School Principals and
the authority to grant leave to female teachers working in the Mandal to the
Mandal Education Officers (MEOs).

Grant of
leave to go abroad:
Teachers going abroad should take prior permission
from the government for any type of leave (up to 5 years). Employees going
abroad for work are allowed to grant EOL up to 5 years with certain conditions.
