📖 Story The Lion and the Clever Rabbit (సింహం మరియు తెలివైన కుందేలు)
Once upon a time, there was a greedy lion named Bhasuraka who ruled the forest. He used to kill many animals every day for his food. The animals were scared and made a deal with him: "Each day, one animal will come to you voluntarily for your meal."
One day, it was a small rabbit's turn. The rabbit was very clever. He reached the lion’s den very late. The lion was furious. The rabbit bowed and said, "Sir, it is not my fault! On my way, another lion stopped me and claimed to be the king of this forest. He is waiting in a big well to fight you."
The angry lion roared, "Take me to him!" The rabbit led the lion to a deep, clear well. "He is hiding inside," said the rabbit. The lion looked into the well and saw his own reflection in the water. Thinking it was another lion, he roared loudly. The reflection roared back (the echo). In a fit of rage, the lion jumped into the well to attack the "other" lion and drowned. The clever rabbit saved all the animals in the forest.
Moral:Wisdom is stronger than physical strength.
అనగనగా ఒక అడవిలో భాసురకము అనే ఒక దురాశ గల సింహం ఉండేది. అది ప్రతిరోజూ ఆహారం కోసం చాలా జంతువులను చంపేసేది. అడవిలోని జంతువులన్నీ భయపడి సింహంతో ఒక ఒప్పందం చేసుకున్నాయి: "మహారాజా! మీరు రోజుకో జంతువును చంపనక్కర్లేదు, మేమే రోజుకొకరి చొప్పున మీ దగ్గరకు వస్తాము."
ఒకరోజు ఒక చిన్న కుందేలు వంతు వచ్చింది. ఆ కుందేలు చాలా తెలివైనది. అది సింహం దగ్గరకు చాలా ఆలస్యంగా వెళ్ళింది. సింహం కోపంతో ఊగిపోతుంటే, కుందేలు వినయంగా ఇలా అంది, "ప్రభూ! నాది తప్పు లేదు. నేను వస్తుంటే దారిలో ఇంకొక సింహం ఎదురైంది. తనే ఈ అడవికి రాజునని చెబుతోంది. అది ఒక పెద్ద బావిలో ఉండి మిమ్మల్ని రమ్మంటోంది."
సింహం గర్జిస్తూ, "నన్ను అక్కడికి తీసుకువెళ్ళు!" అని ఆర్డర్ వేసింది. కుందేలు సింహాన్ని ఒక లోతైన బావి దగ్గరకు తీసుకువెళ్లి, "అదిగో లోపల దాక్కుంది" అని చెప్పింది. సింహం బావిలోకి చూడగా, నీటిలో తన నీడ (Reflection) కనిపించింది. అది నిజంగానే వేరే సింహం అనుకుని గట్టిగా గర్జించింది. బావిలో నుండి ప్రతిధ్వని (Echo) వినిపించింది. కోపంతో ఆ సింహం నీటిలోని తన ప్రతిబింబాన్ని చంపడానికి బావిలోకి దూకి చనిపోయింది. కుందేలు తన తెలివితేటలతో అడవిలోని జంతువులన్నింటినీ కాపాడింది.
