32A. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (Bio Sketch):
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in
Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. His parents were Jainulabdeen and Ashiamma. He studied
Physics at St. Joseph’s College and Aerospace Engineering at MIT. He was a
great scientist and contributed to India’s missile and space programmes. He was
known as the “Missile Man of India.” He served as the 11th President of India
from 2002 to 2007. He received awards like Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan, and
Padma Vibhushan. He wrote books like Wings of Fire and Ignited Minds.
He passed away on 27 July 2015.

Kalpana Chawla was a great Indian astronaut. She was born in
Haryana. She worked hard and became the first Indian woman in space. She
inspired many people with her courage and determination. Though she died in a
space accident, her achievements will always be remembered.
