Answer: I would tell my father to always wear a standard helmet, follow all traffic lights and signs, maintain a safe speed limit, and never use a mobile phone while driving.

23. A boy wants to plant saplings (trees) in his village. He decides to protect them until they grow well. What steps should he take to care for the plants?

The sacrifices of thousands of freedom fighters, the efforts of Subhas Chandra Bose's INA, and the financial/military exhaustion of Britain after World War II made it impossible for them to continue ruling India.

26. Mention any two daily activities where air pressure is useful.

33. a) Study the following table of expenditure of two families. (Data: Rakesh's Family total expenses = 2000+1000+600+400+600+3000+2400 = 10,000. Savings = 0. Veeraiah's Family total expenses = 2500+1000+600+300+1000+1000+1000 = 7400. Savings = 3500.)

Answer the following questions:

a) Which family is saving money?

Answer: Veeraiah's Family is saving money (₹3500).

b) Which family is spending more for luxury?

Answer: Rakesh's Family is spending more on luxury (₹3000 compared to Veeraiah's ₹1000).

c) Write the differences in the way the money is spent by each family.

Answer:

·         Rakesh spends more on luxuries and others

·         Veeraih saves more money and spends less

 

(Or) b) Compare different irrigation methods based on water usage and efficiency.

Answer:

1. Flood Irrigation: Water is pumped directly over the entire field. Usage: Very high water usage. Efficiency: Very low, as a lot of water is wasted through evaporation and runoff.

2. Furrow Irrigation: Water flows through small channels (furrows) between crop rows. Usage: High. Efficiency: Better than flood irrigation but still wastes water.

3. Sprinkler Irrigation: Water is sprayed into the air like rain through pipes and nozzles. Usage: Moderate to low. Efficiency: High. It covers a large area evenly and is excellent for uneven land, reducing wastage.

4. Drip Irrigation: Water is delivered drop by drop directly to the roots of the plants using narrow pipes. Usage: Very low (least water usage). Efficiency: Very high. It ensures maximum absorption by the plant with zero evaporation or runoff, making it the best method for water conservation.
