For voluntary retirement, those who have completed 20 years of qualifying service should give 3 months' notice to the appointing authority of the post in which they are posted.

For permission for voluntary retirement, the employee should submit a certificate from two doctors (Civil Surgeons) stating that he is healthy and fit to do duty.

Except for sick leave and paid leave for higher education, no other paid leave will be considered as eligible leave.

The officer should retire after giving permission for optional retirement.

Gratuity will be given only after completing 20 years. Family pension and commutation facilities will be available. (A.P.R.P Rule 1980 Rule 43(5)  G.O.Ms.No.413 F&P Dt:29-11-1977)

The facility of compassionate appointment is not applicable to those who take voluntary retirement (on other grounds).

No medical examination is required for voluntary retirement.

If an employee who has 20 years of service and takes voluntary retirement has more than 5 years of service, then 5 years of weightage will be added. If the service is less than 5 years, then only that period of service will be added. Pension will be calculated based on that.

 

Questions - Answers

 

1. How many months in advance should an application be made for Voluntary Retirement (VR)? To whom should the application be made? What documents should be attached?

 Ans: If a person wants to take VR, a notice (application) should be given to the appointing officer 3 months in advance. Notices given within three months will also be accepted by the appointing officer. May be allowed. In the case of teachers, teachers in the mandal area should give a notice to the MEO and high school teachers to the DEO through HM clearly stating the date from which they want VR to come into effect. There are no specific documents to be attached.

 

2. On what grounds can VR be taken?

 Ans: Personal, illness etc. reasons can be shown.

 

3. A teacher will complete 20 years of service by October 2018. Will he get full pension if he takes VR after October?

 Ans: If he completes 20 years of net qualifying service, he will be eligible for VR but will not get full pension.

 

4. If he wants to take VR after completing twenty years of service... how many years of weightage will be added?

 Ans: The difference between qualifying service... superannuation (58/60 years) will be added as weightage. However... its maximum limit is five years.

 

5. Loss of Pay, Can I apply for VR while on Long Leave (medical grounds)?

 Ans: Yes.

 

6. Should I apply for VR while on Medical Leave and joining school? Is it beneficial to take VR while on leave?

 Ans: If I take VR while on leave, I cannot take commuted leave. If I join school and take VR, I can take commuted leave and get full pay for the leave period.

 

7. Will the new PRC be applicable if I take VR from October 2018?

 Ans: The 11th PRC.... is supposed to come into effect from July 1, 2018. I am confident that it will come. However... Notions? Will there be monetary benefit? We cannot say for sure right now!

 

8. Can I continue GI after taking VR? How much will the GI amount be?

 Ans: There is no possibility of continuing group insurance after VR. The amount is as per the table released by the government every year. Comes.

 

9. Finally, a question. How much pension will I get if I take VR between 20 years and 28 years of service?

 Ans: If a teacher retires after completing 33 years of service including weightage.... 50% of the last basic pay will be confirmed as pension. Otherwise, if I take VR....

AP G.O.Ms.No.413 F&P Dt:29-11-1977 relates to rules for voluntary retirement, specifically regarding the pension calculation for employees with 20 years of qualifying service who retire voluntarily. It states that an employee is eligible for a weightage of up to 5 years for pension calculation, based on the difference between their qualifying service and 33 years of service or 5 years, whichever is less.
